M.C.U.D promueve la próxima Asamblea Civil en Cuba con el Subsecretario
para América Latina, Embajador Roger F. Noriega.
Washington D.C. 2 de Marzo 2005. En el día de hoy cumpliendo con su
agenda internacional de trabajo así como con su compromiso de darle
apoyo a la “Asamblea para promover la Sociedad Civil en Cuba”, el
Movimiento Cubano Unidad Democrática representado por su presidente el
Ing. César L. Alarcón, sostuvo un amistoso encuentro con el Honorable
Subsecretario de Estado para América Latina y el Caribe, Embajador Roger
F. Noriega.
Durante el encuentro el Ing. Alarcón le mostró al Subsecretario Roger F.
Noriega una carpeta conteniendo información relacionada con el próximo
Congreso opositor a celebrarse en Cuba el 20 de mayo del 2005. Le
solicitó al Sr. Noriega su apoyo y que dentro de su agenda de trabajo y
en lo posible diese a conocer tan importante suceso, pues en realidad un
evento de esa magnitud y enfocado a abrir espacios de libertad en
nuestra patria se merece el apoyo incondicional de todos los amigos de
la democracia y especialmente nuestros amigos latinoamericanos.
Roger F. Noriega ocupa la más alta posición del gobierno norteamericano
para implementar su política hacia Latinoamérica y el Caribe. El
Embajador Noriega es un amante de la libertad y la democracia y es
conocido ampliamente por su apoyo a la actual administración que
mantiene un compromiso con la libertad y los derechos humanos, conoce
ampliamente el drama cubano y sabe que en Cuba el pueblo no goza de
ningún derecho.
El Subsecretario para América Latina expreso su apoyo total a dicho
evento y le expreso al Ing. Alarcón su deseo de que “La Asamblea” pueda
cumplir con su cometido y el pueblo cubano logre avanzar en la causa de
su libertad plena.
El Embajador Noriega le solicitó al Ing. Alarcón le hiciese llegar
información actualizada sobre el avance y desenvolvimiento de “La
Asamblea para Promover la Sociedad Civil en Cuba”.

M.C.U.D promotes Assembly of the Civil Society in Cuba with Assistant
Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Ambassador Roger F.
Noriega.
Washington D.C. March 2, 2005. Today, complying with its international
agenda as well as its commitment to support the "Assembly to promote the
Civil Society in Cuba", the Cuban Movement for a Unified Democracy
represented by its president Eng. César L. Alarcón, met with the
Honorable Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs,
Ambassador Roger F. Noriega.
During the encounter Eng. Alarcón presented Assistant Secretary Roger F.
Noriega with a folder containing information relating to the upcoming
competing congress to be celebrated in Cuba May 20 2005. Eng. Alarcón
asked. Mr. Noriega for his support and that within his agenda of work
and whenever possible announce this important event, because in fact an
event of this magnitude and focused to open areas of freedom in our
mother country deserves the unconditional support of every friend of
democracy and specially our Latin American friends.
Roger F. Noriega holds the highest position of the North American
government to implement its policy towards Latin America and the
Caribbean. Ambassador Noriega is a devotee of freedom and democracy and
is widely known for his support to the present administration that has
demonstrated a commitment to freedom and human rights, and is well aware
of the Cuban drama and knows that in Cuba people do not have any rights.
The Assistant Secretary expressed his total support to this event and
expressed his desire that this "Assembly" can fulfill its objective and
the Cuban people manage to advance in the search for total freedom.
Ambassador Noriega asked Eng. Alarcón to keep him updated on the
advancement and development of "Assembly to promote the Civil Society in
Cuba".
