I am approaching you as the Member of European Parliament and a regular Member of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee.

Together with my other colleagues from the European Parliament, I am fully committed to take part in the first general meeting of the Assembly to promote the civil society in Cuba, to be held on 20th May 2005 in La Habana, Cuba.

I would be particularly happy to be able to contribute to improve the cooperation of civil society and non-governmental organisations in EU countries and Cuba. In this respect, I declare my full support to the idea of organising the first general meeting of non-governmental organisations, you and your colleagues are preparing.
